We Bury The Dead

In this horror thriller, writer/director Zak Hilditch (These Final Hours, Transmission) reanimates the zombie genre with fresh ideas and disturbing philosophical quandaries about the boundaries of consciousness. Leading the cast is Daisy Ridley (Star Wars) and she is joined by Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge) and Mark Coles Smith (Apple Cider Vinegar). When The United States accidentally deploys an experimental weapon off Australia’s southern coast, the explosive EMP with a wide, catastrophic range, prompts over 500,000 people to drop dead, their brains shutting down instantly. Inexplicably, though, some manage to reboot at random, pale echoes of their former selves, with the military promising that they’re docile and will be put back down humanely. This ignites hope in the desperate Ava (Daisy Ridley), whose husband, Mitch (Matt Whelan), has recently traveled to the Southern tip of Tasmania for a work retreat. She volunteers for a body retrieval and identification unit in the hopes of finding him. But soon the corpses start showing signs of life and grow more violent, more relentless, and more dangerous with every passing hour.
